Impermanence

The principle that all conditioned phenomena are transient and subject to change and decay. A foundational concept in Buddhist philosophy and one of the philosophical underpinnings of wabi-sabi. The specific discomfort of Western perfectionism is partly a resistance to accepting impermanence.
