Overtourism

Literal Translation
A condition in which the volume of visitors to a destination exceeds the capacity of the destination's infrastructure and community to absorb them without significant negative consequences — physical damage to sites, pricing pressure on local residents, degradation of the cultural or natural experience the destination offers. Several neighbourhoods of Kyoto and parts of Mount Fuji's surroundings have been explicitly identified as experiencing overtourism.
