Finely ground powder made from shade-grown tencha green tea leaves. The centrepiece of the Japanese tea ceremony. You consume the entire leaf rather than steeping it. The vivid green colour, the umami depth, and the calm-alert quality from L-theanine are all consequences of the shade-growing and grinding process.
