Nunchi

(눈치) The ability to read social atmosphere and adjust accordingly. A perceptive person with good nunchi picks up on reluctance before it needs to be expressed. The expectation that others will exercise nunchi is one reason direct refusal is less necessary in many Korean social contexts.
