(武俠) Literally "martial hero" or "chivalrous fighter." A genre of Chinese fiction, film, and drama built around skilled warriors who exist outside ordinary social structures and use their abilities in service of justice and personal honour. Carries a continuous political argument about the outsider with moral authority versus corrupt official power.
